SINCE 1951...the Sun Fun Festival has been a Myrtle Beach tradition. In 1951, local businessmen started the Sun Fun Festival as a way to kick-off the summer season and increase tourism to Myrtle Beach. Sun Fun ran continuously from 1951 - 2011, then returned in 2016 and has grown into much anticipated event each year.
